Four weeks or more

Winter stays in Coral Bay, Peyia, Cyprus

Most winter days here are mild enough for lunch outside in the sun. The hills turn green after the first rains, the almond trees blossom in February, and the lemon tree in Villa Yolo's garden is heavy with fruit.

Ask about a winter stay

You are welcome to stay at either villa for four weeks or more between November and March. Each villa has three en-suite bedrooms, so family or friends can join you during your stay. Please send us your dates and we will send you a price.

Spending the days

A stay of a month or more leaves time to come back to the places you like, as well as to find new ones.

The beaches at Coral Bay and Corallia are a short walk away and quiet in winter, which suits a long walk on the sand. Agios Georgios, 15 minutes up the coast by car, has a harbour, a church on the headland and an early Christian excavation.

In Paphos, the archaeological park with its Roman floor mosaics is open every day through the winter, with shorter hours, and the harbour and castle are beside it. Inland, Vasilikon winery at Kathikas is open for tastings all winter, and Peyia village, five minutes up the hill, has tavernas around its square.

When family and friends visit

Each of the three en-suite bedrooms has its own balcony. Family and friends stay at no extra charge. Villa Yolo sleeps up to eight guests, including the sofa bed, and Villa Tamara sleeps six. Each villa has a ground-floor en-suite bedroom that you can reach without stairs.

Paphos airport is about 35 minutes away by car, and the taxi fare is set by the government. If you are travelling with friends and would like to book both villas, they are on the same road, a minute's walk apart.

Keeping warm

The air conditioning in every room heats as well as cools.

The pool at Villa Yolo can be heated in winter. If you would like pool heating, we will include the cost when we send you a price. The pool at Villa Tamara is not heated.

Day to day

The supermarket, pharmacy and cash machines on the Coral Bay strip are a two-minute walk away and stay open through the winter. Many tavernas and bars close for the season, but a few stay open. The large supermarkets are in Paphos.

Both villas have a washing machine, a tumble dryer, a dishwasher, an oven and free WiFi.

Planning

Before you book

Getting about

You can walk to the beach and the strip. Bus 615 runs to Kato Paphos all year, though less often from December to March, so the harbour, the archaeological park and the Tombs of the Kings can be reached without a car. The Akamas and Lara Bay need a car, and the wine villages are hard to reach without one. See Getting there for buses, taxis and car hire.

Doctors and pharmacies

There is a pharmacy on the strip. Paphos General Hospital, which has a 24-hour emergency department, is about 20 minutes away by car.

The European Health Insurance Card and the UK GHIC cover medically necessary treatment in the state system. They do not cover private clinics: there, you pay the clinic yourself or through your travel insurance.

How long you can stay

Citizens of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland do not need a visa. To stay longer than three months, they must register with the Civil Registry and Migration Department within four months of arriving.

Visitors from many other countries, including the UK, may stay up to 90 days in any 180 without a visa. Cyprus counts these days separately from the Schengen area. Check the current rules for your nationality before you book.
