Sheltered crescent of sand at Coral Bay lined with parasols below the headland hotel

10 minutes on foot

Coral Bay beach

A sheltered Blue Flag beach, about 10 minutes downhill from either villa.

Coral Bay is a crescent of soft, pale sand between two limestone headlands. The headlands break the swell, so the water inside the bay stays calm and shallow a long way out. This makes the beach suitable for small children.

Its Blue Flag status covers water quality, safety and facilities, and lifeguards operate during the season. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available along the main stretch, with washing facilities and places to eat and drink at the top of the steps.

The walk from either villa takes around 10 minutes. The route is downhill to the beach and uphill on the return.

Worth knowing

  • High seasonThe beach is usually busiest around the middle of the day in July and August.
  • Water sports in seasonPedalos, jet skis and boat trips operate from the bay through the summer.
  • Sunset over the waterCoral Bay is on the west coast, so the sun sets over the water.
